Decom Support

Our experience working across a wide range of wellhead equipment ideally positions us to assist in surface abandonment and decommissioning projects.

We hold contracts with leading operators to provide services on over 1000 wells and our technicians have serviced and repaired just about every type of wellhead system in the industry. We have taken that knowledge and built a track record of successful decommissioning support work on over 100 wells in the UKCS and Europe. This has included intervention support for plug setting, isolation verification, removal of Xmas trees and tubing hangers, through to supply and fitting of suspension flanges.

To deliver added value to our customers, we are able to call upon our own innovative technology which is eminently suited to end of life operations. Our compact but powerful Surface Intervention System has been developed to include plug setting, inspection and Xmas tree removal, with its own integral well control packages. This delivers rapid, rigless intervention capability for efficient, low-cost remediation work, especially on normally unmanned or smaller satellite platforms where deck space and logistics can be a challenge.

In the high cost subsea industry, we are experiencing increasing demand for innovative technology to improve efficiency in decommissioning, where small gains provide large savings. Our Temporary Abandonment Cap Test Tool (TACTT) uniquely provides a means of verifying pressure below the suspension cap prior to removal and can be used to safely vent this pressure. This enables vessel rather than rig-based pre-abandonment preparatory activity to be undertaken at a much lower cost.

One of Unity’s values is to provide a single point of contracting expertise across late and end of life surface well integrity projects, balanced with close partner collaboration. This enables efficient planning, cost savings and streamlined work scopes to be realised, reducing rig time and likelihood of overruns.
