Business Systems Lead

Reports to: Finance Director

Location: Aberdeen, UK

Unity is a leading and growing provider of well integrity solutions for the upstream oil and gas industry and are creating this new role to provide a dedicated resource to advance its Business Systems. The role will involve a combination of reactive assistance to the various business lines to ensure effective use of systems currently in place and project work to deliver improvements which are of strategic importance.

Following a recent major acquisition, the business has invested in its Business Systems and now operates its core systems through Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. It would therefore be extremely advantageous for you to have experience operating in Business Central or NAV environments. You would be expected to be able to optimise the systems independently as far as possible and project manage the more complex elements with our specialist consultants.

The business operates in an Office365 environment, utilising SharePoint, therefore it would be expected for you to have experience utilising this suite of applications. Knowledge of Azure would be beneficial. The business also operates Jet Reports for reporting from Business Central which is Excel based and has several functions utilising basic Excel worksheets therefore strong Excel skills would be essential.

This role will suite someone who is inquisitive and motivated to improve the way things are done. You will have a detailed understanding of how to identify process gaps, with an analytical mind enabling you to find resolutions.

Strong communication skills will be essential as you will operate across all business lines with staff of varying skills and experience of which you will need to provide support, so they effectively operate our Business Systems. It is also imperative that you can work autonomously with minimal supervision and guidance in what is fundamentally a start-up role.

There will be a degree of travel involved to our sites in Great Yarmouth and Esbjerg, Denmark.

This really is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the business's development and you will have significant exposure to the experienced Senior Management of the business. Due to the nature of the role you will be expected to work closely with the QHSE and finance functions but will operate across business lines. You will be reporting to the Finance Director.

Buyer

Reports to: Procurement and Supply Chain Manager

Location: Great Yarmouth, UK

Closing Date: 28/10/2019

Unity are looking for a Buyer to assist in the procurement of goods and services to the entire Unity group to achieve cost effectiveness and optimum quality. The job holder will also assist the Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager in the sourcing of new suppliers for R&D and Engineering and ensure all purchases and requirements are dealt with in line with defined procurement procedure.

The role will involve sourcing quotations from approved suppliers and providing price summaries to request for consideration and provide support for tenders and quotations by providing budgetary pricing and lead times.

The Buyer will be responsible for negotiating best prices and product quality, assisting in developing and populating our business system with regards to vendor management, price lists and material description.

The post holder will also:

  • Follow Due Diligence and Compliance in line with Legislations, guidelines and Procurement Reviews
  • Perform Non-Critical Supplier Evaluations
  • Assist Supply Chain Manager with ITT’s, SLA’s, NDA’s and Frameworks, Critical Supplier Evaluations, Audits, Budgetary Reviews and Performance Reviews
  • Assist in liaising with internal customers, departments and suppliers
  • Track and Expedite Critical High Level Spend, Project and Engineering Orders

To be considered for this role you will need to have:

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant purchasing experience, preferably with an engineering/manufacturing or technical bias
  • Ability to read basic engineering drawings
  • Be self-motivated and able to work under pressure
  • Good team player with sound interpersonal skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and good understanding of IT systems
  • A right to work in the UK – we currently do not offer sponsorship
