Mechanical Design Engineer

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Location: Aberdeen, UK

Unity are looking for an enthusiastic and highly driven Design Engineer to join our team. This role would involve supporting the design team as well as workshop and offshore operations. The right candidate needs to be highly motivated and eager to learn. Engineers at Unity are responsible for every stage of the development process, right from initial conceptual sketch’s, through design and analysis, to equipment assembly testing and offshore deployment. Due to the range of products that Unity provide, candidates will be gain valuable experience in a variety of engineering challenges as part of a small dynamic team.

The following is essential:

  • 2-5 years’ relevant experience essential in wellhead/xmas tree/surface equipment, or process equipment design.
  • Good proficiency in SolidWorks CAD.
  • Degree or HND qualified in relevant discipline.
  • Good communication and written skills.
  • Ability to fit in and work well in a team, but confident enough to work autonomously when required.
  • Hands on/workshop experience building and testing equipment.
  • Able to manage project deliverables on time.
  • Proficient in performing engineering calculations.
  • Experience with rapid turnaround on projects (e.g. 2-4 months from design to delivery).

The following is preferred:

  • Offshore experience
  • Immediate start
