Unity expands well integrity capabilities with new downhole service.

Unity, an international well integrity and decommissioning specialist, has launched a new downhole integrity service, adding thru-tubing applications and technology to its established surface and shallow intervention offering.
This significant expansion enables operators and service providers to source fully integrated well integrity solutions from a single vendor, reducing complexity, streamlining operations and improving cost efficiency.
Unity’s CEO, Gary Smart, said: “Extending our expertise into thru-tubing solutions is a natural progression for Unity. With our in-house engineering capability and existing know-how, we can now deliver integrity assurance across the complete well lifecycle. This expansion strengthens our value to clients and positions us to grow through continued technical innovation.”
The new service delivers extensive integrity expertise to Unity’s clients, embedding thru-tubing knowledge in its multi-skilled offshore engineers, from project management to site operations. This reduces POB, equipment spread and operational cost and risk. Solutions are available for wellbore clean-up, fishing, remediation and stimulation, plus thru-tubing decommissioning work with engineering and product manufacturing solving individual challenges with rapidly deployable solutions.
The provision of thru-tubing solutions enhances Unity’s decommissioning portfolio, expanding its Phase 0 integrity verification and risk mitigation work to include Phase 1 downhole barrier setting for reservoir abandonment.
Leading the service is Unity’s newly appointed Thru-Tubing Operations Manager, Andrew Finlay, with 20 years’ intervention experience gained at Halliburton, Baker Hughes, SPEX Group and Reservoir Group. Andrew is backed by a specialist team and the company’s 120-strong workforce.
The new service is available immediately across Unity’s operations in the UK, Europe, US, Australia and Asia.
